About Rachel
Hi, I’m Rachel, a wedding photographer based in Ashford, Kent, and I work across the South East, including Kent, Essex, Surrey and Sussex.
I photograph weddings in a way that feels natural and unobtrusive. Most of the day is captured as it happens, without interruption, with just enough direction when it’s needed to help you feel comfortable and look your best.
Being married with two young children, I know how quickly moments pass and how much the small, in-between ones matter. That perspective shapes how I work and what I look for.

How I Work
The aim is simple. To make the photography feel like part of the day, not something that takes it over. For most of the day, I work in a documentary style. I’m watching, anticipating, and capturing moments as they unfold. That includes everything from the obvious moments to the quieter ones that often mean more over time.
When it comes to portraits, I’ll guide you just enough so you’re not left wondering what to do. Nothing complicated, nothing forced. Usually a short window is all we need, so you can get back to your guests.
Good wedding photography isn’t just about how the images look. It’s about how they feel when you come back to them years later. I bring backup equipment, plan for the unexpected, and work in a way that keeps things running smoothly without adding pressure to the day. Experience
I've been photographing weddings for over a decade, and have captured over 200 weddings across Kent and the South East, in all kinds of venues and conditions. From small, relaxed days to larger celebrations with more moving parts. That experience isn't about numbers. It's about knowing how the day unfolds, where time tends to slip, and how to keep things feeling easy while still getting the photos that matter.
If you’ve spent time looking at wedding photography, you’ll have seen different styles described in different ways. In practice, most couples don’t want just one approach. What tends to work best is a blend. Natural, documentary coverage for the majority of the day, with a short, focused portrait session when the light and timing are right.
You can see examples of this approach in my wedding photography portfolio.
Every wedding is different, but the goal is always the same. To keep things relaxed, to capture what matters, and to give you a set of images that feel like your day.
